MobiSNA is an innovative mobile video social networking application initiated by the Pennsylvania State University and funded by Alcatel-Lucent. Led by Professors Lee Giles and Luke Zhang at the College of Information Sciences and Technology, the Pennsylvania State University, the MobiSNA project is an effort to design and prototype a system where users socially share video(s) either in real-time from their phones or online videos. The sharing can be from video services such as Google or YouTube through a mobile phone interface that permits users to view a networked collage such as only seen now in a TV studio, situation or control room. Currently, the project focuses on the following major functions: social network-based video exploration, real-time video sharing, video blogging, video-based interest groups, and system and database design.
